Remember just the start of this year, I talked about something interesting? You know, about childhood friends? Well guess what. They did it this season. And probably there will be one the next season. But who cares. Here are the first impressions of the anime from Winter 2012, Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru. So here’s my first impressions cum 1st episode review.
Being a show my Aniplex and A -1 pictures, the art work and character designs are really nice and that is a plus part of the anime. And according to LessThanFree who read the manga, he claims that the anime is much more “fuller” than the manga. You know… it has much more much-ness.
And the lack of originality doesn’t just stop there. Remember a while back, a certain ex-Chuunibyou fell in love with the wielder of the cursed eye? And he got black mailed slightly before that? Well this show does that… And does the fact of the guy ignoring love for studying sound familiar? Like a certain monster next door?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as if I hated this show, but the resemblance of this show to other shows kind of really stand out for me. Maybe all anime do that. Anyway, this show is definitely a harem romance of some kind, guessing from the OP theme. But they can surprise us. Because anime can always do that.
Anywho, main guy, EIta… mugger (guy who does nothing except study) and with a title like “My Girlfriend and Childhood Friend Fight Too Much” there should be a girlfriend and childhood friend. Well the “fake” girlfriend is a Sadistic, Lady-like and Mugger Natsukawa voiced by the lovely Tamura Yukari and the childhood friend is Chiwa your classic hyper loli who loves meat. May not be classic but a hyper loli she is.
The girls look absolutely adorable and personally I vote for Natsukawa to be the one who gets Eita but seeing this will/probably end as a harem, I guess the ending will be the main guy with no girl. And plus the fact that the childhood friend never really does get the boy… 70% of the time. And yes I pulled that statistic out of my cupboard.
The comedy isn’t bad and the way they kick start off the show seems okay, and romance-wise we’ll probably see more girls thrown in so this show. Judging from the premise this won’t be the greatest show of the year, but still should be a really enjoyable show to watch. Plus the OP and ED are really catchy and adorable. Adorable. Yes. So stereotypical Rom com… amaze me.
Overall how badly you should watch this show? 8/10. Why no ten? Because of shows like Tamako Market, Haganai Next and Chihayafuru S2, those are definitely more of a must watch.
